On October 1,2021

my daughter Kiya at the age of 18 years old  was alcohol poisoned by a bootlegger here on the Pine Ridge Indian reservation while drinking with some friends one night.

three drinks later my daughters organs started shutting down one by one with IHS hospital telling me 5hrs later my baby of my 6 childrens liver is at 50%. How my world was shattered with them telling me they was gonna have to  put her into a coma to stabalize her til they can get her to Sanford Hospital in Bismark North dakota. there the Drs were like angels keeping kiya alive til they could find somewhere that can take her for a liver transplant.

The Drs working on my daughter came out of the room my daughter was in grabbing my hand saying "I'm soo sorry, Shes very beautiful and too young for this. I want you to go back to your tribe and ask them why someone would give such a beautiful young lady rubbing alcohol, she has toxic shock to her liver due to rubbing alcohol ". As her mother i thanked these drs with my heart and soul for keeping her alive til we could get her to the Mayo. Two days later the mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota said they were able to take Kiya where she was immediately put on the nationwide liver transplant list, the next 4 days she had a liver offered. with her Transplant team amazed amazed that 4 came in 4 days ,,I told them she is strong ,shes amazing and 4 is a sacred number within our culture. I will not let her go as her mother that loves her soo much while she lay in a coma for 12 days  fighting for her life over a bootlegger heartlessly selling her this drink of death.

 on oct 8th she recieved a liver that fit and was given a successful liver transplant.

Our beautiful Daughter Grandaughter Sister Aunty and Friend is now in her healing time ,,shes healing in many ways still to today. 

Like we hope other youth can too to never have to go through what Kiya went through.
